This island is a canonical part of the DINO-PIRATES OF NINJA ISLAND setting. You can still edit it, but aware that the admins may revert your changes if they don't align with the overall vision of the setting.
Summary
A quiet haven where pirate ships and their crews can rest and undertake repairs. Two Bays Cay, governed by ritual and custom, makes a great hideout for anyone who doesn’t want to be disturbed. So long as they keep the peace.
Two Bays Cay, named for obvious reasons, is a known haven shared amongst the pirates — a place where a damaged ship in need of repairs (or a crew in need of simple rest and recuperation) can find a relatively safe hidey-hole, conduct any necessary repairs, and be underway without raising any suspicions.
Either end of Two Bays opens into a sheltered cove. The east side has a narrow channel that leads to the misleadingly named “Narrow Bay”, while the west side’s Bay is the equally-incorrectly-titled “Long Bay”. At the mouth of either bay stands a flagpole. Tradition dictates that if the flag is raised, the bay is in use, and whoever is currently there has the right to keep their business private. To enable privacy-seeking pirates, each bay is also surmounted by several elderly stone cannon, invulnerable to ship-borne guns and capable of dishing out immense damage. Not easily can either bay be stormed against determined resistance.
Between the two bays, forming the slender neck at the center of the cay, is the ironically-named “Swamp of Peace” – so called because the giant crocodiles that lurk in its mud and bogs keep crews from one side of the cay from bothering anyone on the other. Nearby Dactyl Rock is named for the immense pterodactyls often found roosting there.
There are some unexplored ruins on Two Bays Cay, most notably some sort of pyramid complex near Long Bay. But tradition holds that it is respect paid to the spirits of those ruins that keeps Two Bays Cay safe from Imperial warships, so few ever dare tempt the wrath of the local gods. Indeed, more folks are tempted to leave offerings for these helpful spirits than to rob them.
Along the shore of Narrow Bay sits a friendly grouping of houses, outbuildings and fields forming the little settlement known as Lizzie’s Manor. There are actually three Lizzies running this demesne, which serves as a public house for the occasional crew to stop in and refresh themselves. Yarn Liz, as she calls herself, is a master brewer, and is happy to share her output with the thirsty crews that come calling. Tall Liz keeps the peace with her swordarm and reputation as a once-fierce pirate captain. And Ninja Liz simply seems to hang about, but her mere presence helps quell anyone who thinks to challenge Tall Liz’s reputation. There is much speculation about the Three Lizzies, but nobody who asks ever gets a straight answer from the women.
Two Bays Cay is a good place for a quick hideout, and likely place to find a pirate captain looking to lay low. The Three Lizzies always know a little something about everything, and those ancient ruins must hide SOME sort of secret.
