The strangest of the many strange features of the Isle of Siamo is that it moves. Some sages claim that there is a seasonal rhythm to its sudden disappearances and migrations through the archipelagos of the northeast. In the spring, it is often in the kelp beds around Medulla whereas in the summer, it is often amongst the schools of migrating eels that move through the straits of Orzum.
For this reason, the island is a favored landmark and base for fishermen and kelp gatherers who see it as an omen of good fortune and, often, a welcome insular respite from life on the sea. Not only its location but its appearance change with the seasons, with its feather-like grasses changing in length and color depending on the time of year. The grasses are considered sacred to the kelp god, Mandu and it is said that those who harvest them at the wrong time of year bring cataclysmic and immediate ruin on themselves.
